The goal of the institute is to build the capacity of school personnel to: serve as a resource and support for students who may be gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning; actively promote a community of inclusion in the school so that all students feel both safe and respected; and serve as a resource for other school personnel regarding issues faced by gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender or questioning students. All participants are expected to attend both days in their entirety. At the conclusion of the training, each participant will receive the GLSEN Lunchbox which contains lessons and activities that can be used with school personnel and parents in turnkey training.
